Italian American Archives

The purposes of the archives are:

1. The preservation of the heritage of Italian Americans for future generations;

2. the education of Italian Americans and others about Italian American values, language, and traditions and the contributions of this group to Northeast Ohio ;

3. the publication and dissemination of scholarship on Italian Americans or topics related to them; and

4. to increase community interest in the history of this group that translates to support either through volunteering time and/or donating items or funds.

 

 

       

The Italian American archive has been established to collect and preserve the papers, documents, photographs, film/video/audio recordings, objects, and other cultural memorabilia related to the Italian Americans of Northeast Ohio.  The collections will be made available for researchers and used by the Historical Society to present and interpret the history and culture of Italian Americans.
